A.S. 2014 Trail Cam Pics.
« on: August 22, 2014, 02:48:10 PM »
Lets just all add our trail cam pics here boys. Post em when you get em.

I will start off, we have a couple smaller ones coming around but this one here,, if he comes under me in the stand this fall he's going down. This one has been around my land for 3 years now I have watched him grow,, This is his year cause I darn well know if one of the neighbours sees him he will be dead.

Nice Buck!!!  If he doesn't change his time of arrival on you you'll be good to go.

I didn't get the chance yet to put up the trail cams.

Looks good. In that picture he looks to be a 5x4 but in the other pictures he could be a 5x5. He is Rambo Buck because if you look in the mouth area (to the right) it looks like he has a cigarette in his mouth. :D

Here are the ones from last fall that I hope are still around. That is why I need to get the cameras up.

He's definitely a solid 5x5 you can tell by the first couple pics comparing them to the last one just by the hight of his g1 in the last pic and the hight of his g2,3,4, in the second pic, no doubt about it.

I will pull my SD card on my one camera at the farm this weekend and see what is on it and will post if anything interesting.

Just my luck,, I have to head to work opening day lol.. Hopefully he doesn't go nocturnal again like he did last year. May be a while until I can get at him,, sure hope he doesn't get whacked on one of the neighbours fields,, we will see.

I don't have a trail cam but I do enjoy these pics. :)

Got me thinking maybe I should get one but I don't know anything about them.

Got any tips as to what kind of camera to get?

Sonny, if you don't want to break the bank here is a cheap one that works pretty well:

Simmons Pro Hunter 6MP
http://www.wholesalesports.com/storefront/hunting-accessories/animal-tracking/6mp-prohunter-trail-camera/prod57548.html

$99 on sale and has a $30 factory rebate now.  So $70 bucks only.  A 16GB SD card can be had for $10 bucks and holds many pics.

Thanks axe...only two more nightshifts and I'll be shopping at WSS.

This is one of the benefits of commuting between Hinton and Fort Mac.

WSS is not that far out of my way. ;D

Pulled my card today and had a look.  One good muley buck that has my attention.  This is on our farm in Strathcona county.
Had the camera aimed a bit too high.  It is aimed perfect now and we will see what this week brings.

Stopped at WSS today and picked up this exact camera.I'm gonna set it up tomorrow at a mineral lick if I can figure out the instructions.. :o
