Jimmy why would you be advocating driving the price of hunting up. I don't beleive for a minute that you beleive hunting should be only for the wealthy so why would you be suggesting things like this. You would actualy like to see people have to bid on tags,, my goodness man this surprises me that a hunter would even consider this.

You would have a resident try and compete with an outfitter for the right to hunt game in his own province,, wow man just wow.

Let me ask you guys this.

Does Sask have a healthy outfitter industry I think so. Does Sask allow non resident hunting of Mule deer or Elk no why not. It's to protect and leave the opportunities for their own residents. What wrong with that people respect that I know I do.

It's high time Alberta starts taking this stance on some of our game as well.

Would you rather drive the price up to the point the average or lower wage earner in this province can't afford to hunt in order to keep outfitters going. Is it more important to you to have outfitters going than to have residents hunting.

Oh come on now Jimmy,, putting a few oats on a pile hardly constitutes a doped up deer.

Sask is a lot closer to Alberta in every way than it is to Ontario.

I know a few outfitters in Alberta that just happen to plant 5 acres of fall rye or 2 acres of sugar beets that just happens to be the patch of ground under the stand,, you know them as well. Just no one talks about it is all. How about that little swear word know as the Alberta trophy fee paid to land owners by outfitters. Jimmy there are bad guys every where.

I don't have to purchase a trophy I can go for a half hr drive and $150 and go shoot one like I do in Alberta. Again they don't even allow outfitting in their southern zones just the north. That is a province that knows how to looks after its resident hunters.

I would like for every res hunter of Alberta the same opportunity as non res hunters in allowing res hunters to purches hunts from outfitters if they choose so.

I would like a increase in the price of the draw system yes, so guys start thinking about what they actually want to hunt.  Maybe that would help do away with the mother in laws mule buck tag she gets even tho she wouldn't no what a mule deer was if it took a dump on her head.

Other then that make a lotto out of everything.

Money is = my 20$ is the same as yours it's just another way.

Still gives more opportunity to the non- res. What do you find disagreeable with the following statement "I don't think any tags that require a resident to be drawn should be available to non-res. That doesn't mean "keep the americans out". There are bear, whitetail, elk, sheep etc., general tags that are available to non-res."
.
You're views are leaning towards paid hunting. That's the last thing we need in Alberta. What's the name of your outfitting company?

I suggested that Albertans have the same opportunity to purchases outfitter tags the same as non-residents, giving Albertans more opportunity in the end as the outfitter tags aren’t resident tags anyway.  And somehow  I gave Albertans more opportunity but yet I didn’t?

The draw code price is a joke as a result it is being cheated.

Lotto for everything how isn’t that fair?

Somehow your 20$ is different than mine?

You figure the name out of my outfitting company and I will see to it you get your choice of the hunts I offer for FREE…

Still didn't answer what was disagreeable with my statement.
Also, your idea would price a lot of residents out of opportunity.
Pretty obvious its all about the money with "you guys".

You still don't grasp it, the outfitter tags are not resident tags!

Pricing albertans out of opportunity?  You mean the opportunity they haven't had the chance to purchase yet?

If an increase in draw costs of 10$ Per or so prices albertans out of hunting I suggest they go to work and get off social assistance or perhaps stop sticking that MIL in for draws.

There is a massive slob hunting issue in this province. I would suggest that it is even more out of control than the Native hunting issue. Give someone something for nothing, and it is sure as hell going to get abused. Make someone pay for something, and they tend to have more respect for it. I am all for raising draw fees in this province, as well as having the privilege of purchasing a guided hunt, as long as those increased fees go to where they are supposed to go, which is management and enforcement.

Hell of a thing, killing a deer. You take away all he's got, and all he's ever going to have.

Funny you mention grasping....
Who do you think would get those tags if they took them from non-residents????
The amount that outfitters would charge residents for the tags if they were available to residents WOULD price some of the residents out.
I do agree the applications for draw should be priced higher AND if drawn, automatically charged the price of a tag. Which also should be higher.
Still haven't answered my question, speaking of grasping....

I agree. Except for the purchase of a guided hunt. It is already available. The one problem is, a resident can only purchase the guided hunt if they already have a tag. For example; A res may only get drawn for mule deer every 5 years. But a non-res can hunt them every year. What is RIGHT with that?????

Why should I answer any of your questions? You haven't answered any of mine...............

But............

To answer your question no I don't want to have non res not be able un eligible for any tags....................

This next part is really important are you aware of the golden rule?  I do hope you grasp that question and answer it because it's the key in this topic.

I don't think it's greed in jimmies case just standing up for outfitting which is something he is obviously passionate about. I don't think there's that kind of money in it one would be considered greedy in doing it.

I would consider myself greedy when it comes to the tags and wanting some species kept for residents only but that's alright when you are greedy for the right reasons lol.
