Anybody doing on trail cam scouting?
« on: July 22, 2013, 10:22:43 PM »
It's that time of year...time to get the trail cams out for some pre-season scouting and it's almost as much fun as the hunt itself, to see who survived the last hunting season and winter and what kind of racks they will put on this year is very exciting...here's a few of the pics I've got in the last couple of weeks.

Anyone else got any cool trail cam pics to share?

Very nice.  Looks like a decent elk.  Got the cameras out and will check them next week for the first time.

I got 11 cameras out and usually get right around 1000 pictures in a 7 day period. I have got grizzly, black bear with cubs, bull elk, white tail, mule deer, moose, coyote, fox, and cougar on cam
Looking for the big bull!!!

He's not hard horned yet was just the sun light behind him that made his horns look thinner, hard horns coming soon though...I'll post when I get a pic.

Going to get serious about setting myn out soon.  Set one out just for a day up near the inlaws farm where two deer trails cross an old logging trail.

All I got were a bunch of piston heads like this.

Great bull!  Long tines, especially those fronts.  Beauty.

Here's a nice up and comer we have coming in the last couple weeks. If he can make it a few years, he'll be something.  Just happens to be hitting the Primal site as well!

Yep he's small.  Its a tough angle to judge from but I am thinking (or hoping) that perhaps he a 2.5 yo, in which case he will be a giant in a couple years.  I'll try post more pics if I get more for a better look.

I had a few cams out and had some problems.  I forgot to put an SD card in one.  I forgot to turn one on.  A battery was loose and not making connection in another.

But two functioned ok and got pics of does, fawns and a couple different bucks.

Here is one:

I finally got a real dandy buck on one of my trail cams.  They always look bigger in velvet but even if he turns out to be smaller he will still be big.
