Bear hunt and Covid-19
« on: April 04, 2020, 01:31:14 PM »
Hey guys. My first time participating in a forum like here...

I wonder if someone knows if we can still go hunt and baiting bear in green lands (Crown lands) despite the Covid-19.

I know we can't go to Parks,etc...

Any information about that?

Thanks,

Walleyes

I don’t see why not. Get your license on line, don’t forget your tags, either through the mail or go to a retailer they are free. Go set your baits up perfect self isolation. Problem is with this weather they won’t be moving around for a while yet

We were riding as of 2 weekends ago and the snow in the Fox Creek area is still butt deep. We pulled the plug on the season last Friday as the social media shit was going hard on anyone who went out lol. Didn't want to give any Rcmp or Sherrif a reason to stop us on the road for sitting too close in a vehicle. Don't need a $1000.00 buck ticket.

I think that's the only issue bear hunters will deal with is the potential for a ticket by an over zealous leo.

Hey Sooner:

Thank you for posting your hunt.

Are the myriad of roads between Edson and Fox Creek plowed out?

Not hunting, sledding :). We tend to sled form either the Eagle Tower road and Virgina Hills road and there is a ton of activity so lots of plowed roads. I can't say whats happening between highway 43 and Edson unfortunately.

Virginia Hills.

Where the roads turn into a thick grease every spring or rain storm.

There must be a high bentonite content in that clay.

Thanks Sooner.
