Sure looks like he was swollen up. Great looking deer!

Nice buck. I wish SRD would get rid of the supplemental tags in the area I hunt. I sure don't see the action with bucks chasing does like I use to.

It's been slow here in east central , hoping tomarrow is different. Full moon had a lot nocturnal running going on as told by tracks in every fresh snow. Hoping the weather and a moon change will get more day light runners.
I'm from the country , and I like it that way!!!

My son lives in Calgary and only get up to hunt with me once in awhile.  This weekend opened up for him so he came up with two friends, one who hunts and another fellow from Trinidad who was along to learn about hunting.

Sat. morning was cold, windy and snowing hard on top of all the snow that fell Friday night.  As we went out in the morning I figured it was the worst day I had ever attempted to go hunting.  I have plenty of time to hunt so I would have stayed home myself but these guys only get so many opportunities so we went out.

I had a great area scouted out and so I sent my sone and the non-hunting friend to hunt there.  They saw 7 deer in the first hour and my son shot a buck and a doe.  The friend from the Caribbean thinks this hunting thing is a little cold but pretty easy.  He wants to go through the hoops and take up hunting.
