Canadian resident Sask. deer draw
« on: June 01, 2013, 10:00:46 PM »

As was hinted to, Canadian residents who want to hunt in Sask. are now "limited" in a draw.  I reckon I may have to apply in a "Tuc zone".

How was the winter for white-tails in your area Tuc?

Yep, the deer had a hard winter and many of the locals reported some winter kill. I'm sure the WT population is still in fair/good shape though. WTS, I don't think they will put the limit back up to two until they had a chance to recoup some. Our zone is 48 and you are welcome to come , we won't discuss politics though....lol, some of my views are quite different then yours but I won't hold that against you. (kidding). The draws are on now at the Sask government website.
My draws are in, 48 for elk and 48 or 56 for moose. I don't really want a moose tag this year because I shot one last two years in a row. We also have a general season on moose and elk if not drawn so it's a win/lose situation. All those years in between waiting for a moose draw in Alberta, I never thought i'd say I am getting sick of eating moose meat (well, almost). Another moose this season would mean a hellava lot of sausage.
Robin, send me a PM and i'll send my email addy if your serious about coming over......

Down to the wire, I am going to apply for zone 48.  I'll be in touch before hand but I reckon I'll see you in Oct. for the muzzleloader season Tuc.
