Feels good just to be out with a fun though I'm sure Sonny.

Early season means berry patches for grouse boys.

Haven't seen a bird on a road yet this year sonny.  As far as feed goes this white snow peas or what ever there called seam to be in most crops.

Will post some pics up for ya.

I think we need a good frost to get them out.

I've harvested eight so far.  Just going out in the evenings.  Haven't found any pockets of birds but am taking singles as I pound km's.

Have they started to get sour from eating needles yet, or are they still good.  I lost my appetite for spruce hens quite a few years ago while cooking one that made the house smell like a spruce forest!!!!  YD forbade me from bringing any more into the house.  We absolutely enjoy ruffies & sharpies.

Seeing quite a few ruffies wandering around looking for elk.  Always keep a judo tip in the quiver.  Don't always bother to shoot one but getting one here and there.  Once October hits we spend a bit more time looking for grouse as a family.  Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Don't mind spruce grouse at all and never hesitate to shoot them.

we with different partners have seen 89 grouse and have got 51

they are just off the roads in the bush edge and in further

last time out we saw 13 and got 5 .. some were runners and other flew

but there were a couple that were just lucky

here is a few of mine the last trip(all single birds)

we went down Yellow Tamarack road...lmao
