Crops and Upland
« on: September 02, 2015, 08:50:51 AM »

Yesterday the opener Sept 1 , close to 500 k , the wife loves a ride in the country .
Dawn till dusk , saw some new stuff , got all my permissions . I'd say 75% of crops
From Acme  south and east to bassano still up . More grain and less canola yippeeee .
Ran the Griph ....couple of stylish points ....Robin size Huns .....no shooting .
Lots of still green stuff ....
I was amazed at how many dry potholes , we had tons of rain ( Okotoks ) but obviously
Not everyone did.  Be a couple of weeks .

That's interesting about standing crops. I was down se of Vulcan getting permission and doing some Mulie scouting and I'd say 60% are combined.  Saw lots of Huns, some small like you.  This weekend I may take a gun with me for them.

Haven't had a chance at birds yet this year myself. Geese, are really starting to show up the last week. Son got out today and they got a few.

Looking forward to some more time afield in Oct to get at some ruffies.

I am a little disappointed in the numbers north of a line thru Vulcan .as you go south Huns pick up
And roosters . Not doing any release sites .. I think my pal has a little arthritis ,a little gimpy after
A hard day . Still haven't found any Duck numbers , to make me happy .  It's early .....
20 miles east of Cow town , thousands of specs  never seen that before .
