Edmonton Bow Zone
« on: June 18, 2012, 10:31:08 AM »
Hi All, I am looking to do some hunting in the Edmonton bow zone this year.  Just curious if anyone has experience hunting there.  To date I am not having allot of success with getting land access but will keep trying.  Hopefully something will come out if not I still have my trip planned up to Edson area.

just did a bunch of dozer work for a farmer in the bowzone in trade for access to his land... we wont tell the boss about it tho lol ... we were doing a bunch of work close to his land and he approached me and asked me to take out a bunch of trees for him so he could build a maternity pen there... i rattled the d6 over after work and it took me about 10 minutes to push them over rip out whatever stumps stayed and put them in a pile so he could burn them.... fair trade to me... heck he even promised to have 3 homemade tree stands setup b4 fall for me

what im getting at is that its pretty hard to get permission in around the city unless you know someone or bend over for them

That work out well for you nice stands and all.  I figure if I ask around enough I may get lucky.  I know forsure if I don't ask I will have no access.  Have to wait and see what happens.

yeah all you can do is get out there and pound on doors... offer your services whatever they may be to a farmer and they more than likely wont turn you down... sometimes a bottle of whiskey or a case of beer or even some homemade sausage or smth along those lines works to butter them up a bit... unless theyve had bad experiences with hunters in the past

True enough I will keep knocking if something comes great if not I will travel a little further from home to bow hunt.  Would just be nice to have an area for day hunts.  Either way come September I will be in the stand or stalking near home or out by Edson where i have permission.
