Whitetail and then elk.  Spring bear are moving up the list, such a great time of year to be in the woods.  Sheep hunting high up on my bucket list for sure.

I like em all but my favorite hunt will always be for whitetails. As far as table fare my favorite would be sheep with either moose or elk a close second.

My favourite is the Hunter Canis lupus .. as i love to match wits against mans best friend and the top Predator.. the North American Grey Wolf.. i love all the differn,t hunts but the wolves when they howl and are coming make the hair on the back of my neck stand up and the game is on.. man against the beast i allways loved the story Red Riding Hood or the Three Little Pigs .. but when they serenade you at night with the pack talking and on the hunt.. you get back to the basic of hunting as you know that the kill is emanate .. and when the Lobo is on the move the game is on and nothing is safe..

we as humans have had a fixation with Wolves and i am one that has that

Antelope are probably my Favourite but maybe because we can only go after them every 7-8 yrs.
Followed by Elk & Sheep then Muleys & Whiteys equally.

I have a daughter and a son and we all apply for trophy and non-trophy and archery antelope.  So I get to go along on a hunt way more often even if I do not actually shoot one.  I enjoy the hunt as much or more when one of the kids is doing the hunting.  We all like spending some time in Antelope country.

Ya Deerman i try to stagger a lot of the different Hunts with my boys so we can enjoy and take part in them together. I have started into the Antelope Archery draw as well now. Hopefully this year my boys will get drawn for Trophy Antelope and i can play chaufeur and Guide, video camera etc.

I agree sonny,, ruffies hold a special place in my world. They were for me the first game animal I hunted. Keep in mind what I am about to say took place 40 years ago and I was raised in a pretty wild enviroment far back in the bush. But I started hunting Grouse on my own back when I was about 6. We basicly hunted them year round, never knew what the regs were never cared either. I spot and stalked many a grouse with my .177cal pellet gun in hand and by the time I was 9 packed a .22. They are the first animal I dressed for eating on my own. My mother prepared many a grouse for me for lunch that I had brought home.

I often say that if a grouse were the size of a moose they would be the only animal I would harvest,, by far the best eating wild game there is in the world,, bar none..

You know, now that you mention it Sonny, I too forgot to mention ruffies. Love hunting ther little buggers but I don't eat alot of them. They usually end up dog food.

Agree with Sonny.  They are fun to hunt and my 9 year old eats them like a coyote.  I need 3 just for a meal for him.

Tough one to answer.  Couldn't choose between whitetails and sheep at the top.  Each hunt has certain aspects about it that makes it special.

Sheep is hard to beat with the awesome places you get to hunt along with the things a guy goes through that makes the rewards so great.  The quiet, and really getting away from it all for a bit both by your location and mentallity is another plus.

With that said it would hard to give up on hunting whitetails.  It feels like there is something different in the air come November and deer hunting is all that really matters.  Lots of stories of the days events or a kill are swapped around the living room or fire.  The walks to the stand in the dark and never knowing what's going to pop out and show itself.  Ahhh good times.
