Been a super busy Aug & Sept so far which has put a dent into a bunch of pre hunting plans. Got out early Aug to clear some trails of fallen logs, got the Moose cam back up in the same spot we had it for the boys hunt last year but haven't been out to check whats on it. Be like xmas this weekend when I change cards and batteries.
Got new strings and cables on the bow I'm using. Got that sighted in last sat at the range. Spent 2 hours last night greasing Argo bearings, oiling chains etc, had to get the two front tire beads cleaned as the kid bumped some logs on a side hill pulling the big boy out last year and seen they were flat.
Just have to buy the bow permit and tag, sharpen some knifes, get the gear together and should be out this weekend for my Moose draw. Now I'm real new to bow hunting, didn't get as much practice in as I hoped. Looks like I need a blind (50 + inch lol) bull to come into 10 yards and in the wide open lol.
Moose rut fun part 2 begins soon.

Lever
Hope the best for you. Just think of the testosterone building up in those bulls while the storm was blowing through.
If she clears and freezes good there should be some good horny talk in the neighberhood.
Ahhhhhhhh you already know that.

Walleyes,Good luck on your Moose trip coming up right away.
Weather looks perfect, cool and crisp! I am sensing there will be a strong rut this year.
When are you heading out?

We'll be heading out Friday the 5th have camp set up that afternoon. Looks like it's going to be a cool fall, be perfect for calling, should keep the flies and bugs down. I think it's a little late this year but it will be OK, should be able to pluck a couple little dinks out that got pushed off. I'm getting pumped I know that, first time in a long time we've had 2 tags in calling season, should make for a good hunt. As always just hope no ones in our little area but that's just the way it goes.

Oct 5th will be perfect. In my experience of many years hunting moose, I think the bigger bulls don't get real serious until the 5th thru the 12th or so.
I was never a fan of the late September, first couple days of October rut action. I have seen some pretty crazy stuff on the magic days of about October 9-10th.

Good looking moose Axe, hope it’s there when the time comes. Walleyes I will be heading off to moose camp on the 9th. Looks like our hunt will mirror yours, two tags also. Good luck guys let’s keep the post up on the action.

One moose down in camp, called in first night, more details after the hunt. One more tag to fill.

Walleyes:
With all this snow, I imagine there is little problem cooling the carcasse.
.
Congratulations.
