Hearing Aids , who wears them to hunt !
« on: September 10, 2019, 10:21:46 AM »
Well I'm really falling apart , I finally gave in to my wife's
 constant badgering ....
I also bought electronic muffs for shooting .....
years of field and trap shooting finally caught up .
Apparently they won't fix selective hearing ....oh well
Any tips from wearers in the field ...
   Thanks

I've been wearing hearing aids for just over two years now and at first I couldn't believe all the sounds I was missing. As for shooting I take them off when I'm at the range but for hunting chickens I leave them on and a couple of shots doesn't really seem to bother me that much.
The last year I hunted without hearing aids I was walking down this trail and my son came out a short distance behind me. He said he called me in a normal tone and I didn't hear him. He said he pick up a stick and broke it in half and I didn't hear that either.
Finally he caught up to me and said. "Are you deaf or something?" I said What?

Now if I'm walking in the bush I turn them up a bit just so nothing sneaks up behind me.  ;)
