This pic is a few years old. My oldest daughter will be twelve next year and will be posing with her own buck then.

My oldest still brags about this day. It was -38 and we went out to fill a doe tag.

Success is sweeter with the kids around...

Love all the pics of the kids guys. My son was diagnosed with autism a couple weeks ago, he's 4. I am really heartbroken because yes, he is very, very different, but that being said I love him with all my heart. I am not sure he will ever be able to go hunting at all, he's not so good with sudden loud noises, which really breaks my heart too, we all hope our sons can enjoy what we do, we have dreams of taking our sons hunting, but maybe it's just not in the cards for me and my boy, but I will try and encourage him to participate. Anyway it's been a bit heartbreaking for me as of late, I knew in my heart though that it was coming since he was about 2. So I don't have any pics of him fishing or hunting but here's a pic of him at the Red Deer river last year for a walk

Paul- that's not the type of news any parent wants to hear. I can only imagine what you are, and will go through. All I can say is do the best you can and hope for the best.

Hey Paul, sorry to here about the news that being said you may not get to hunt or fish together but there will be lots of other things that you will be able to do together.

Paul, I am so very sorry you have received this dissapointing news. I will say, however, that the methods that they use to help these kids learn, and adapt, are amazing. Don't give up on your desire to share the outdoors/hunting/fishing with your son. It may take longer for him to appreciate it, but it may still happen. The journey that you will have raising your son will be different than you thought at first, but it will be rewarding just the same. Good luck and prayers for you both.

Paul sometimes it's more about the time spent with the people we love and the animals we love. Pictures taken with your boy while hunting with a camera can be as rewarding for both as much as actually taking the animal. Hearing protection may be a help in the future when your son understands what it is for. You never know one day your son may teach you a thing or two about hunting!

Paul, my 4 year old granddaughter is autistic…When I take her fishing I let her do it her way and sometimes the hook never gets into the water but she enjoys being out…So I look at it as going fishing but not in the traditional way…Don’t lose hope since there are many different types of therapies available now for treating autism and I have seen really good results with my granddaughter…
Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.
