My son who lives in Airdrie was drawn for a late season cow moose tag in wmu316 and he filled his tag yesterday morning.
Not much of a story behind this hunt. First two days he seen four bulls and he had to pass on all of them. Then at the crack of dawn on the third day he found a cow. Range finder said it was 187 yards out. He shot once behind the front leg and she stumbled forward and then went down.
Rifle was a Browning A-bolt in .30-06 which I bought for him on his 12th birthday, that was 31 years ago.
