Late Season Ruffies
« on: January 03, 2017, 08:43:50 AM »
Just a reminder to everyone that grouse are open late, until Jan 15 in most zones.
I carry the .22 with me when going on ice fishing trips.
We were out on Dec 31st and got 7 nice ruffies between me and my buddy.

With the snow on the ground they are very easy to get when they sit on the branches of the willows.  It has been on awesome season for ruffies and is still going.

I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Nice, we were sledding between Whitecourt and Fox Creek New Years day and coming back to the trucks in the dark. At dusk I seen 4 in the high willows and almost ran over one sitting in the snow when it was dark. It was lucky as it was near the trees, if it would have been in the middle of the line, where i could see it had been as i roared by, i would have squashed it lol.

Yep, didn't do to well with the big game this year, but it has been a great hunting season with the chickens.  I have never had a bad hunting season mind you.
