Minister's draw tags
« on: January 08, 2014, 01:45:54 PM »
Anyone else buying tickets for the ministers tags this year?  I haven't for a few years, but mailed away my form and cheque today.  Buying 4 elk and 1 sheep tickets.
Draw's on my birthday, so with a little birthday luck I'll be driving the half hour to Ralston in Sept.   ;)

Personally I have never put much thought into it.. For myself,, if my boys can't be part of the hunt or possible kill I am not really interested.

I am sure there is just to much attention surrounding these hunts for my liking,, I just like to go get lost in the bush for a week yah know what I mean,, I don't want somebody checking in to see how it's going every 15 min so to speak.. Can't see something like this being my bag..

If you win a ministers tag you can hunt the animal basically anywhere in the province, whenever there's a season for the species/gender of the tag.

For me and the elk, it'd be 20 minutes from my house in a wmu/season that's normally p12 or so;  but you could use the tag to hunt anywhere in the province there's a season (I believe except cypress hills, wainwright, and that park e of edmonton).
