Walleyes, sounds like the boys have been half busy butchering!!!! I guess that your bro Richard & his boys still have tags, and hope to fill them either later today or early tomorrow.

That's what I heard, sounds like another solid year for the boys. Sounds like they were calling good too.

I was not able to go because of medical issues, what with CAT scans, bone scans, among other things. Piss me off, to say the least. I was hoping to show the Ukes & Romanians again how a German does it!!!!!

I'm not sure about waiting for this Nov moose hunt this year,, this is too long to wait. This feels like whitetail season not moose season for me.
We will be heading out on the 2nd for our week. Got all the gear ready, going to be a long hitch at work this time.

Us to, this year my group got late season draws. We head out that week also. I have hunted moose in the late season as all of us have, and at times it brings a different challenge. Other times it seems they get their second wind, and the small bulls get active. That's ok by me, I would rather have a 3 to 5 year old, as I am a meat hunter.

Looks like the weather is going to be decent for that time period so that's good news.
We are meat hunters as well when it comes to moose but having two tags this year we are telling ourselves we may horn hunt the second bull if we have the time. But in all honesty I can't see us having the patients lol, we love moose meat to much to risk it lol.

Very hard to watch one walk by and let it go. My old man would turn over in his grave and slap me if I did. He was a tad hungry as a boy in the 30's so drilled into my head, you can't eat horns.

Definately hard to pass the young ones up had a great shot at one on thanksgiving monday morning, but wasnt ready to let the arrow fly quite yet. Long story short tracked what I thought was a different bull a long darn ways and when I thought I was getting close I let out a short wine and he came in on the run right to 45 yards, perfect broadside shot. I'm sure I'll regret it but just wasn't ready to close the tag yet. Curious to see what will show up in the swamps I hunt as the freeze starts. Would love to fill the freezer but just can't get over a certain moose I'm after, as well as the pictures in my head of Dandy moose I've seen over the years when I didn't have a tag in my pocket.

You guys will do well in the Nov hunt. I have been doing the late hunt for moose for years now and haven't wasted a tag yet. No draw for us this year though...pissed about that.
If a few cows were missed in the first rut, the bulls will still be callable. I have called in the last 3 bulls that I have shot in Nov. Nov 10-11 has been the magic time I found.
My hunting partners can attest to the calling in Nov as they were skeptical until they witnessed it and saw it for themselves.
Hunt the willows and don't fall for the old wive's tales that the moose leave the muskegs during freeze up.
Easy, find the tracks and sign and persist.
I am talking to old pro's though and you guys know how to get it done. Looking forward to the pics.
Just changed my avatar pic to bring luck to you guys.
