Official 2018 Upland and Waterfowling thread...

Diversity is the key.....to traffic...

1.. Conditions in your area....ie. Crops , water , bird numbers .

I expect a good season in the Okotoks East and south areas .....
Way more water than the last three years and way less canola !

I'm going to Stettler area for Sept 1 north fowl opener ...

Not sure about the south Sept 8 ...opener . The big
fishin water is holding big piles of Ducks ...
The griff and I are both healthy ,  I have helped a couple
of younger guys with their first pointers ...and they are wired
for waterfowling. I have attached a scabbard to my Walker ....
     Lol .
We are going to be running big field spreads ( 100 plus Full Bodies )
        should be fun ...

       Lurkers jump in , thnx

This is the Grff in his new hunting coat

Good thread topic. Yes it's getting close isn't it, the boy has beeen going over the decoys and guns getting all equipment ready. Been talking to land owners lining up fields, won't be long be hammering on some Geese.

Newbie here. Looking at getting into hunting duck and geese. Where to start? Where to go? What to use? Is a 20 Gauge sufficient? Or is Bow better? Looking around the Okotoks and surrounding area.
