My oldest boy has been getting at the bait station. Unforetunetly he wasn't able to get at it very early do to all the snow but its been in about a week. No hits yet but its starting to get a real stink to it so shouldn't be long.

Looks good Walleyes. Have you tried any of those Beaver cages? I can see that Beaver of yours disappearing with the first bear that shows up.

Have you had any bears in yet?

No hits yet..

Not to worried about the beaver, there are 3 more in the barrel,, that one is just to give them the tatse.. No shortage of them around here, we will just go back down to the creek and dump a couple more if we need.

Looks like we got a few coming in. Jesse sent over some pics from the trail cam. I think Sam and I will head over tomorrow night or Monday and see if Sam can get a shot in at one of these pigs.

We made it out to the stand Sunday afternoon but no visitors. Jesse was out last night and had the cinnamon come out but he saidit was pretty skiddish. Hopefully we can get Sam out again this weekend.

I have never hunted bears over bait but I do have a question.

Do you guys hunt right till last light and if so how spooky is it walking out in the dark? :o

At times we sit until dark sonny just depends, this time we only sat until 9ish we got out there around 4 so it was a long sit already. But yah it can be kind of a spooky walk at times, I will add that we always have a gun with us while bow hunting, one never knows and it's better to be safe.

Depends.  Sometimes I may have trail cam pics of a big bear and I want to give him every opportunity to show.  Always love it when a sow with cubs show up in that last couple minutes.  Now that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up when she woofs at you while walking out!!  LOL

Usually I leave about 15 minutes after sunset if I am not looking for a particular bear.

That black looks like a real good bear...Getting out of the stand at last light when surrounded by bears is definitely "adrenaline" time, really makes you feel alive! OK sometimes a little scary too lol.
