awesome Rick! My daughter got a new G5 Radical a couple of months ago. I hope she's shooting that well by the time she's 12!!

Bear hunting is one of the two things on my bucket list. Hopefully in the next year or two but not this year.

Just another one of Sonny's mystical powers. I was on a trip to Europe and had the unbelievable opportunity to meet the Pope, when I spoke to him all he said was "Where' s Sonny"?
If you are too busy to hunt , you are too busy.

Well, My daughter and I made it up for our bear hunt last weekend.  It was a blast and we had some great experiences.  She did get a shot at a mature bear but just didn't get the penetration required to kill such an animal.  Based on that we decided to work at getting her poundage up to 50# and give it a shot again next year (She is shooting 40# and getting about 41 lbs of KE). Anyway, we stayed at a camp and got to experience some pretty cool things.  on the last day we were offered a ride in the helicopter, a first for her.  As we were loading a bear walked in to camp and we got to use the helicopter to welcome him in with a short jog!  LOL Chasing a bear out of camp in a helicopter was definitely a first for me!  Attached are some pictures of the highlights.  She thought it was pretty cool that a bear would climb up the tree to check us causing me to kick my pepsi off the stand.  the bear checked it out at bit the bottle spraying the shaken pop everywhere.  It made him jump then he drank my pop!  LOL

First night in the stand.

Soft Ice cream machine in camp.  definitely a hit to Emily!!!

There were bears!!  seen about 12 over the 2 days of hunting.

The kids got to go for a helicopter ride.

I let her drive my truck quite a bit.  It was a little nerve wracking when she was hitting 80 km/hr!! LOL

Did I mention how much of a hit the Ice cream machine was!!

And one bear had a hay day with the quads!!  By far the best part of this was the bear destroyed the seats on both of Steve's quad and left mine alone, Hardly made me laugh at all!! lol (mine got it last year and he might of laughed at me!)

Looks Like an amazing trip Weste
I remember my first trip to a camp all the food you could eat and drink!  Took 2L of apple juice up the stick to run a frac sting I still remember being in agony for that 14 hr trip.
The kids must have been a hit in camp?

Looks like one heck of a trip weste.. Nice to see you have lots  of action around the baits. Too bad your girl never got her kill, but we live and we learn that's all part of it.

By the looks of it you were in an open camp, is it one you work out of or just an open camp near where you hunt.

Love the story and the pics good job on all of it well done.

The camp staff had a great time with the kids.  They couldn't believe that these kids wanted to get a bear with the bow.  As for the workers, it was a small crew and they were active when we were sleeping and vice versa so we didn't have a lot of interactions.  Everybody were nice and friendly.

It was a closed camp that my buddy Steve works out of.  He does some project management for the company and has worked there the last couple years overseeing building of some of the wellsites.  Anyway, we were generously welcomed into camp as honourary employees of flint.  LOL  Sounded like the camp is usually closed for this time of year but there was some straggler work that created the opportunity for us to stay there.  Usually we camp but this was a nice change.  LOL
