Nicely done!  Boy that's a big animal.  Had a chance to try the meat yet?

Have been chowing down on this guy since he hit the ground, love the meat! It tastes essentially like nothing so whatever you season it like it tastes like, virtually no fat on them. Did one bacon infused roast, inserted bacon inside a roast and then wrapped it to cook, deeelicious! i would actually hunt them again just for the meat! Glad i brougt it all home with me on the plane, it was extra baggage but well worth it.

Glad to hear it.  A young fellow we employed, "back in my flying days" ended up flying floats up N., he told me caribou tasted like candy(maybe barren ground/lichen fed?*).  Never had the opportunity to try it, but caribou is most definitely very near the top on my wish list.

*He also thought my homemade plonk tasted good so I wasn't certain how to take it (a pop bottle of plonk and a game of risk is another story ;)  )

Nice looking animal.

I have always wondered what the meat is like,, I heard it's pretty darn good.

Awesome bou. Great to hear that they are great table fare. This is a hunt I have dreamed of. Did you go with a outfitter?

I went with David Lear of Trophy Hunts Inc. Its just a small outfit but great accomodations and food and a great hunting area. You have to go outfitted in NFLD as a non resident.

The meat is very lean and somewhat tasteless.
