It's pretty much true, not of Brian's doing nor most of the WR but the hard nosed PC's that just won't move. It is proof that at heart they are not really conservatives at all but rather PC's regardless of the state of the province or their party.
I was in on the phone call listening, you can here it hear and judge for yourself as to what has taken place.

Thanks for the ^^^^^ Walleyes.
So we non government workers have to suffer under a carbon tax. Are the teachers going to suffer? Is the medical industry going to suffer? Is anyone associated with a government trade union going to suffer?
The answer is no. It is just a matter of time until the pack horse can't carry any more supplies up the mountain.

Good article,I'm particularly taken with the last 3 paragraphs . One of the main problems
Is poor PR by the Pipe people. They need a high profile champion . It's all about the buzz
these days . Being held hostage by the Eco terrorist crowd is total BS . Unfortunately don't look
To the Prov ,or the Feds ...to step up . Never mind golf tournaments ,we need a million Oil people
March here to end this Bull shit once and for all.

Your exactly right and same goes for these oil companies why don't they do more of their own PR. They sit back and cry because the government doesn't do more for them, why should they. They are the ones making the money do your own darn advertising and PR work for crying out loud. Let's hear from them more, get some rallies going get more lobbying going. Why sit back and make your workers get the rallies going why make us do the PR work,, get after it for cying out loud.

After months of digging in their heels, today Earls Restaurants abandoned their scheme to replace Canadian beef with imported foreign beef.
This grudging reversal came about only because thousands of Canadians stood up to the bullies at Earls Vancouver headquarters. More than 12,000 Earls customers signed our petition at BoycottEarls.ca with a simple message: if Earls boycotts Canada, Canadians will boycott Earls.
And we did. According to one frustrated Earls manager in Alberta, business was down a whopping 30%. So not only were Canadian ranchers losing business, but so were Canadian restaurateurs, waiters and waitresses. All because politically correct activists in Vancouver thought that foreign beef was more humane than Canadian beef.
What a lie what a slap in the face. In fact, Earls foreign slaughterhouse was the one with questionable ethics it was a 100% halal slaughterhouse, killing cattle in the Islamic sharia tradition, a fact they tried to obscure.
Well, you and I fought back. I personally delivered your massive petition to Earls headquarters and handed it to Cate Simpson, the Earls spin doctor who has spent the past two months bad-mouthing Canadian ranchers.
But what I think finally tipped the balance was good, patriotic Earls employees and managers in a full-out revolt. It was either that or go out of business.
So thank you, Canada. Thanks for standing up for Canadian agriculture and Canadian entrepreneurs.
If youre like me, youre still mad that Earls did this in the first place, and maybe youre not quite ready to go back to their restaurants again. But remember, this anti-Canadian decision was made by their senior executives not by your local Earls. Local employees and managers were the ones who suffered the most.
Yours truly,
Sheila Gunn Reid

That is great news about Earl's.
I gave up on them a dozen or so years ago due to there mediocre overpriced food and pretentious atmosphere and have no plans of going back.
But good to hear regardless.

This is ridiculous think I will stop paying my WCB until these people get a wage cut. This is private sector wages for a revenue generating company that's makes money no beauracrat should ever make this kind of scratch.

Better to be in private industry and make some real coin.
Michael M. Wilson (Agrium) $23.8 million
JR Shaw (Shaw Communications) (Exec. Chair) $17.4 million
Doug Suttles (Encana) $13.8 million
Paul Colbourne (Surge Energy) $13.7 million
Steven W. Williams (Suncor) $13 million
Scott Saxberg (Crescent Point) $12.8 million
Bradley Shaw (Shaw Communications) (CEO) $12.4 million
Harold N. Kvisle (Talisman Energy) $9.5 million
Steve W. Laut (Canadian Natural Resources) $9.3 million
Brian C. Ferguson (Cenovus Energy) $9.2 million
Russell Girling (TransCanada) $8.7 million
Asim Ghosh (Husky Energy) $8.2 million

Difference being axe is that these are companies that for the most part make money. These wages can be voted on by share holders. People have the option as share holders to be a part of these companies or not. The people that run these companies are responsible for huge decisions that can make or break a company, make a false move and lose money for your company and there will be action taken, there is accountability. Where's the accountability in the WCB there is none what so ever. Huge difference.

Yup, know that. Hence the
I am personally invested in a few of those companies I listed though and my investment returns have been less than spectacular.
Can I ask for the big buck CEO's pulling in those wages to be a bit more accountable......
WCB has a board to review salaries too but they are obviously not very accountable either.
My opinion is that some of these top dogs in both public and private sector are grossly overpaid based on
performance
in many cases.
Make big money for the company, ya take home some bigger bonuses but that isn't always the case now is it.

Personly I don't think anybody is WORTH some of those wages by any means. But I guess that's what it takes to draw in the talent they need to run some of those companies. That and for the most part they are old boys clubs. Seems so many of those CEO's rotate from company to company, some times they do well other times they fail.
It's funny some of the companies that are doing well during this down turn sure don't pay their CEO's those kind of dollars. The company I am with now is a med producer. They were able to turn a 64 mill net profit for 1st qrt of 16, we are actualy working and have maintained working through this down turn. They run a dept to capital ratio of 1.4 compared to the industry average of probly 15 - 20 some as high as over 30 in some of the companies you listed. Yet the CEO of this company takes home 800g a year a very modest salary for a company of its size. They are a very highly respected company in town and have little difficulty raising capital when it's needed. It just shows that the people running it have their priorities where they should be and that's the share holders and not their own pockets.
