I don't want to take away from the tragedy of what happened in Toronto a couple days ago but I have a question, are they going to outlaw Assault Vans or not. How many people are going to have to die before these needless weapons are off our streets.

Honorary doctorate degree for the world's biggest hypocrite, David Suzuki.
Suzuki is trained in genetics, but has spent his life faking science and being the biggest eco-warrior nut case by spreading propaganda and lies.

The hotbed of Alberta Liberalism UofA is pulling off this boner move.  Idiots!

How come Dave Suzuki is not standing on his soup box about these environment atrocities? Oh wait, that's rights, it's not in Alberta.

Im sure I've said it on here before but personely I hope this line is canceled and doesn't go through. It's worth it to not have idiot boy get in another term, it's worth the risk.

We will get this moron booted from office, get the Cons back in, restore investor confidence in this country. The Eagle spirit line will got through and even energy east, it will end up better in the long run.

I'm still on the fence with Scheer(also wondering where is he at times) but have been watching some good battles in the house from him on Youtube. I'm almost thinking he is smart like a fox, keep quiet and let Turdo keep on screwing up all on his own. Maybe the Lefty mainstream media is holding back on reporting what he has to say. I sure hope he can cash in on the Turdo screw ups come election time. Be nice to see the NDP and Libs split votes too.

I was just thinking the same thing.  We've had this "social justice" thing shoved down our throats as a means to an end.  Maybe if the Kinder Morgan didn't go through on lefty terms it would be a lot better in the long term.
Pipelines are going to get built whether people want it or not.  This world don't run on hope and to many tax paying jobs and royalties depend on the energy sector.  We've never needed a carbon tax to get it done.  We've never needed a bleeding heart actor in a prime ministers clothing to get it done

Maybe, bit of a gamble though with the voters in this country.  Never under estimate the stupidity of the Canadian voters.

I sent an email to my co-workers this morning after reading the announcement.  This was my initial reaction:

But, I am confused, probably mostly from the horrible reporting from our brain dead mainstream media.
Okay, so the big announcement is Trudeau and Morneau have decided to “spend $4.5 billion to buy the trans mountain pipeline and all of Kinder Morgan Canada’s core assets.
This decision after all KM asked for was some certainty on allowing them to expand the pipeline without opposition or eco-terrorist interference by BC and its government.
https://globalnews.ca/news/4238702/ottawa-buy-trans-mountain-pipeline-project-4-5b/

The cost of the proposed expansion was set at $7.4 billion and this has been the reported figure for some time now.
https://globalnews.ca/news/4238702/ottawa-buy-trans-mountain-pipeline-project-4-5b/

So the obvious question is this.  After the $4.5 billion buyout of existing KM assets, Are the Feds footing the bill for the $7.4 billion expansion as well?  It would seem that this would be the only option.  With the buyout, why would KM invest without being an owner.  With Feds involved now, just watch the costs expand.

My initial reaction:

•   At least it is being built because Alberta definitely needs the revenue on Dilbit exports.
•   All Trudeau had to do is forcefully mandate  (yes MANdate) BC NDP Horgan to obey the law instead of costing tax payers untold billions on his buyout solution.
•   If Trudeau didn’t spend the billions on KM, then it would go to Bombardier and foreign aid give aways anyway.  Debt means nothing to him.
•   Perhaps this decision will piss off BC, Quebec, and Atlantic voters enough to cost him the next election.  Alberta will reject him at any rate.

This is a very troubling statement from Morneau:

“Once the sale is complete, he said, Canada will continue the construction on its own, with a view to eventually selling the whole thing down the road, once market conditions would allow it to get the best price.”
