Beautiful Brookie.

Beautiful halos and colouring.

I would have figured the kype would be a little bigger, but maybe that fish still has a few years to live.

Wonderful picture Speckle.

Why would the brookies be stacking up along the shoreline?

Remember that a lake does not change over in the spring or  fall uniformly.

Perhaps the shallower portions of Maligne turned over and the oxygen levels for fish and their food were closer to shore.

The same question comes to mind about Cold Lake.

Walleyes, do you have any insight to my assertion on Cold Lake?

Thanks again.

Schooling up for spawn

lots of males and a few females

in spots along banks

Chars spawn in Oct too Dec around here

did not see any huge ones

Food for thought
