78# Chinook.

What a fish hey,, caught up at QCL in the Charlottes today I guess. 78# lol.. I always tell myself if I were to catch one like this I would giver back as well but I just don't know if I could. I will wait and see I guess.

What a slob. It would absolutely go back so she could spawn.  Get some photos and length/girth measurements and get a replica mount done.

Awesome looking fish!  I have fished QCL a few times and they definitely promote the catch and release except I believe there measurements definitely overstate the size of the fish.  They are releasing that fish so it was never weighed, just an estimate.  There was a 72# one caught and kept while I was there and officially weighed and I would say it was noticeably bigger than that salmon.  Anyway, its a great fish and should be celebrated.

No doubt they are generous on the estimate but in the end it really doesn't matter. It's a once in many lifetimes catch,, I know. I have plied those waters for many many years and have never come close to this thing, a true trophy in any measure..

I lived on the coast for 49 of my years and fished the waters since I was three years old
Caught lots of springs too
That fish isn't 78#
More like 55 to 60
