Anyone been out yet?

Anyone been out yet?  I have walked across some ponds and creeks for hunting, but have not been out on any lakes to fish yet.  How has it been for the early ice crowd?

I was suppose to go out with a buddy last weekend for some whites that are stacked up very thick but my back wasn't on the same page and I had to stay home.

Looks like it will be open water fishing down in the south for quite awhile now. Last I checked it was 17 straight days of + weather.

I might be accompanying a buddy on an elk hunt early in December so that will keep my mind off of wanting to ice fish for a bit at least.

Never been hunting before so I am kind of excited and not to sure what to expect.

Chris,
When are we heading out to catch some of those monster perch?

I was down to Montana last Thursday and Friday hoping to do some trout fishing on hard water. Ran into a grass fire that started in Browning and I'm guessing it made its way to Cutbank. Kipp Lake, Four Horns and Mission were all open water but there was about 12" of ice on Duck Lake. The trout were finicky but we did manage to almost take our limits. Did I mention the wind? The new Eskimo Quickflip 3 got a pretty decent test. I am pleased to report that it performed very well. Looking forward to getting down that way again... very soon.

Did you have as much fun putting that quick flip 3 together as I did?
