Blackett / Kinnard Lake Report.

The boys and I made it out on our annual Boxing Day run out to Blackett Lake on the 26th. Went in with Doo's and a couple quads, quads made it in with no troubles and cruised on the lake with no issues as well. Fishing on the other hand was slow. We targeted mainly perch, fished Blackett first then put in the late afternoon on Kinnard. Both were slow for Perch, we should of just stayed on Blackett and went for eyes. We hit a few eyes on Perch gear but all small stuff. We did manage about a dozen or so decent Perch enough for one family feed which my son kept.

Ice thickness was around 12" with moderate over flow on the lakes. The over flow is shallow and posed no issues as of yet.

I really wish this weather would break so I could get out on some local lakes,, looks like it may next week I may get in a couple days before work hits..

Ive been trying to get out to Blackett since xmas. Last time I fished it the Perch fishing was incredible, mind you that was 2 years ago. Its a shame they locked that gate, Id love to bring the whole clan in there for a day but I can't without the truck lol
