fished a couple hours in the rain this afternoon. water is on the rise and dark. i did manage to hook into a decent brown. made the trip out more than worth while.

thanks boys. one pretty fish for sure. still have some work to do though. my 11 year old boy caught a brown 2" bigger a couple weeks back. you would not believe how fast he scrambled up the bank after i released this fish. where are you going, i asked. to get the tape measure out of your vest he answered. i measured the fish on my rod and he needed that measurement before he continued to fish. still one up on me for the year, so far. little bugger.

Ask him to show you some pointers so you can get a bigger fish. It would give him a huge boost in confidence and ego!

koke, you haven't met my boy. giving him anymore of an ego boost outdoor wise, would make him dangerous. he eats, sleeps and breaths hunting and fishing. i can only hope things never change and he continues to learn and excel.

Sounds like you've got him headed down the right path

i believe so. it's not that hard when he enjoys it so much. pretty cool having a partner under the same roof. never late or backs out of an outing at the last minute. does get real mad when the trucks full and there's no room though. here's a pic of his brown from a couple of weeks back for the boys who've never seen it. it was a good fish indeed.
