« on: February 20, 2016, 03:49:46 PM »
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has happened to spend any time in this area and what they thought of the fishing?

Never been but I don't think a guy could go wrong up there. I wouldn't be scared to head up there and check it out.

I think I'm going to have to go check it out.
Lands so cheap and the fishing is reportedly remarkable.
I can not help but daydream about starting a guided fishing business up there.

Fishing up there is good but not great.  You'll get your fill of 2 pound eater walleyes and 5 pound pike, but its definetly not a trophy fishery.  In response to the cheap land up there...theres a reason for that.  Lots of break and enters from the local first nations, bad road up there, long ways from anywhere really, Meadow Lake is the closest place of more than 500 people and even that's a couple hours away and only a couple thousand people.

To bad about the state of fishing you report but thank you i do appreciate it.
The area is often referred to as a world class fishery?
There are over 50 additional lakes and 26 fishable rivers/streams in the area from my research.
The remoteness is appealing to me in fact way more remote would be to my liking.
The natives could be a issue I suppose but I'm not afraid to protect whats mine.

I am sure a guy would find his holes with solid fish in them over time. From what I have herd there are some dandy lakes in the area.

I was also going to bring up the native issue up there. A guy couldn't leave nothing up there alone it would be trashed in no time and it would be an ongoing issue. Nice place to visit but if there is a road into it,, forget it man, not worth the constant fight. There are other places in more accessible areas to look at possibly.
