Love the pictures OL JR.

Great fishing success with a bunch of gorgeous young women. :) What else can a guy ask for outside of hunting season? ;)

Right on. :)

Thanks for the comments,  that first day was a bit of a rough one for the weather but the wife is a trooper.  She ended up getting her first laker later on in the trip which she is pictured with at the top.

Hope to make it for one more short trip later on in March but will have to see how it goes with work and such.

Wasn't out on th big lake but hit a few just over the border early last week. Slow for eyes, lots of Pike for us. Travel is still good no issues, haven't heard anything on the big crack on the lake lately. One word of advice,, take an extension. I was just making it through and didn't on a couple holes I attempted. Take a shovel cause you have to get rid of all the snow to make it through.

Thanks Walleyes will have to rig up or find an extension this week, it would be pretty sad to head up there and not be able to get through the ice :)

Any word on the snow conditions?  Looks like there was a big dump in the last day.

Bit of a belated update on the last trip.
It was just a friend and myself this time so was feeling a bit more adventurous with hopes of crossing a heave to get to some new to us waters but it was still to sketchy even on the quads.  I had actually made it across but my back tires broke through.  With the heave still pretty active I decided to pick a new line and gun it back across not knowing if it would open up wider and make it unpassable after a couple nights on the ice.
By the time we got fishing at another spot it was late.  Picked up a couple burbs but that was it.  One we kept for a later lunch.
Next day met us with a pretty slow morning.  Landed a couple smaller trout and then we decided to move.  After an hours quad ride we set up and got some good fishing in.  Only a handful landed but quite a bit of action on the flashers with most of the fish seemingly hanging out high up in the water column.
We were hoping for big things the next and last morning but it wasn't to be.  I don't know where all the fish went but they weren't there.  One trout in the 4-5 pound range was it.
Both trips this year the size seemed down.  Biggest around that 8-9 pound range with most around 5.  Looking forward to next year and hope the access conditions are a bit better.  Kind of ate into a lot of time this year trying to explore with heaves all over.
Every time I fish this lake it just gets a bit more fun waiting for next time.  All in all had an absolute blast, it was the first time for either of us staying out on the ice.  Ate good, slept good and even snuck a few rums and whiskeys in while listening to a hockey game and watching the flashers in the evenings 🙂.  A few pics from the trip.

That's fishing I guess hey OL_JR, there one day gone the next. That ice pic looks spooky lol, looks dark down there.

What you gots to do is get your butt out there in the summer and spend a day with me out on the he boat fishing for them. Try a 12# laker on my 9 weight fly rod lol. Offer is always open, just let me know.

That's stands for any regular member on here that wants to get a day in laker fishing and I mean it, any time I'm home and can get out boys, just give me a few days so it can be planned on my days off. Top notch boat, top notch equipment, I run no junk, best laker trip ya'll ever have I garuntee it,  free of charge.

Glad you got the last winter trip in OL,enjoyed the pictures as always. That's quite an offer Walleyes, not many in this world that would offer that up anymore this days. Not sayings nothing against the city boys on here, but that is just pure country people generously.

Oh we'd have fun I'm sure. Love having kids out on the water, that's what it's all about. Keep it in mind if you ever find yourself up in tha neck of the woods, you know where you can get a hold of me lol.
