cold windy slow day full of brookies
« on: November 17, 2014, 10:02:36 AM »
-24 when we got to the lake gusty cold wind. trout were scattered and deeper than expected. cold knocked em down i think.
2.5" of ice. cracking lots, even opened up in the middle and flooded when we cracked er. spooky.
fished about 6hrs. landed a few dozen between the 2 of us.
most were 6-8"ers kept a limit of 14-17"ers.
no hogs. tough day. hope to try again before the fall rush is over....cheers
Never met a fish I didn't like!!

Nice looking fish,, I would think they are good eating fish out of the cold water.

hah. yeah. never saw the whole lake crack and flood in the middle before. creepy. took pics i will share once we figure out our computer issues at home.
my best (worst?) was a few years ago when we were on 1.5" of ice...really freaky.
we just stay in the shallows and stay safe. all good as long as it's clear black ice.
