How easy it to change/replace the batteries?I have though these types of sonar would be perfect for river / stream fishing. And even for slip bobber fishing away from the boat. But have found the battery life times not all that great and the ones I have looked at there was no possibility to change the batteries out.
Pretty neat unit, have you had it out in any deeper water 80' plus? Curious how it performs.
A major concern of those castable sonars in moving water is how well they can process the effects of silt, foaming water, fast moving water, and water that is circulating in swirls from all over..Specifically, I wonder how those castable sonars would work in huge powerful rivers of the Skeena drainage or Island rivers for steelhead and salmon. I was thinking about the effectiveness of the sonar in those long deep runs where you use jig and bobber rigsSituations where I wonder how those castable sonars would work in Alberta rivers would be on those deep pools and eddies on the AthaB , North Sask, Smokey, Red Deer, Peace... where big bulls, rainbows, Browns or walleye wait for a whitefish lunch.
Right on Doc. Bottom contour, sunken trees, huge boulders..... Seeing any fish is of secondary interest. or no interest at all.
Its a sealed unit. Battery life is about 4 hours then you will have to recharge. no possible way to change the battery.
