Family fishing Lac La Biche
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:02:32 AM »

Lac La Biche Lake Ice Fishing with the Family for Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch and Cisco.  We got a late start out onto the ice since we had a full load with the whole family along.  Grandma, grandpa, my youngest brother and two kids... my wife was hiding out in the tent and didn't make an appearance on the video.  The wind blew up in the afternoon which made things a bit uncomfortable but the fish were on the move and biting pretty much anything that they saw.  Storm Swim Baits in white and slender spoons seemed to do the trick. We were just off the provincial park cosway past the shack city.  This is a really easy place to get on and off the ice for those wondering and there are fish right there of all species as you can see.

Yeah I don't always publish the name but thought this was a mediocre day and wouldn't necessarily cause a mad rush to the lake.  Also focusing the attention on the lake.  Some things are strategic.  I heard they are talking opening it for walleye and once they do that cat will be out of the bag and will be back to collapsed in a few years.  They just need a slot one fish not everything over 50 cm.  They need to do something though those walleye are cleaning that lake out.

No issues Brandon always enjoy your posts. It's not like it's a secret anyways,, but you know what can happen with to much advertisement.. You are right it would be nice to see something done about the lake,, but it won't. You have to know the people running that town and county. A more backwards thinking ignorant bunch there isn't in the province,, honestly. They could be working with the government on developing something special there,, but they won't.. It would mean progress and the people running that area are not interested in progress,, well they are but they have no concept of what it means..

Anyways,, sorry for the derail,, back to your video,, once again a great contribution to the site,, Thx Brandon..

Yup I know what you mean.... it is amazing how much potential that lake has!  I didn't even start to realize it till I went there for the first time this summer and saw all the structure and baitfish.  Wow, impressive lake.

Bingo! No secrets on LLB lake, they have been managing it specifically for walleye for years, the town is asleep on the potential, no surprise, that's how they do things there, a slot size there is the answer and very sustainable. The lake is polluted with walleyes.
