Fishing Log 2017.
« on: May 22, 2017, 08:01:57 PM »
Rather than starting a new post every time I go out I'll just keep a rolling thread.

Got out today, went out to Peck Lake. It's a lttle lake east of me about an hr, well would be if the darn road wasn't so bad wowzers. So glad to have the older boat back to take down those roads, no way would I take my big boat in there.

Not the best fishing day but it's early in the season. Quite a few Pike nothing to big maybe 4# at the biggest. But it was a heck of a day to be out in the water.

Calm as glass and the Loons singing like crazy ahhh the days we dream about all winter.

If you think the gravel from pierceland down to peck is bad you should try the pavement, or what is left of it, from Peck south to Paradise Hill.

Got out Tuesday, it was still pretty slow only a few small Pike.

We got out this afternoon on a bigger lake, was a darn nice evening. Pike we're hungry nothing to big tonight dropped a nice one next to the boat would have been in the 15# range. Big surprise was the big eyes were out tonight feeding, couple dandies in the 4-6# range. Was windy but spent worst nights. Fish have moved out of the shallow bays and into deeper water, 8-12' was the range tonight.

Got out this morning for a little run, last one before I head to work tomorrow. Hit Cold Lake, went into the shallows to play with some big pike, not bad caught quite a few couple nice ones biggest in the 15# range, good solid fish pulled like a tank. Day started out nice, got pretty rough and sloppy on the crossing home, was glad to have the big deep V today. That's old lake can get messy in a hurry, good 4 footers coming on a cross angle lol, my partner was a little nervous.

Hot lunch.

Not the best pic but nice fat Sow with 3 cubs.

Nice "Monsta" Walleyes.

In that picture of you cooking hotdogs, as well as other pictures you have posted on the forum, your boat looks like a trusty horse resting in the background.

I will bet your going to miss that "trusty horse" when you send her out to pasture. :-X :)

Yah that boat is my baby, I think my wife gets jealous some days. It's been one heck of a machine, when I do decide to sell it whoever buys it is going to get good unit. It's been cared for like very few have from top to bottom. It's rigged for fishing by a fisherman.

It will always be my favourite regardless of what I own in the future. We got many ours of family enjoyment with the kids in that boat and continue to. I dreamed and saved for that boat for years, paid it off quick so if something ever did happen no one could ever come and take it from us. It's going to be hard to see it go.

Definitely nice eyes   . We went out today   To no keepem
  reservoir, Lots of nice eyes 3 , -  5 lbs .
Both my partner and I have had some sun related
skin problems , maybe 10 hrs a day on the water is
To much ???? NAW ...Anyway we both bought buff tubes .
45 spf . And wore them today . It was sunny , windy , rainy
Usually I feel burnt big time  , today not at all , I'm a believer .
We are trying not to handle these released fish . We have a underwater
camera .but forgot it . I thought I would hate the tube but, not so much .

Lovin the reports Walleyes, that's a beauty of a pike.  A nice mature pike is hard to beat imho.  When I think about big pike I think about the surprise of seeing a big log rising into sight that didn't seem to really put up to much of a fight, and then you realize the fight hasn't started yet.

What's the "tube" for Walleyes? Is it for a sun block or cold? Maybe both? Don't think I'm up to date with this garment.

Lol, that's not my post that's w101's. I've seen those used on some of the TV fishing shows, they are used for wind and UV protection I believe.

That was the case with this big girl. She barely took the hook, came in the first time like a 2# fish, when she first saw the boat, all heck broke lose. Then after about the 3rd run she spit the rapala and it hooked her under the back lower fin. Wowsers then the battle was on lol. Took a few minutes to get her into the basket.

TRUELY A GREAT LOOKING PIKE. Congrats

It looks like about an inch longer than the one I caught up your way 2 weeks ago. Very nice. Mine fought hard right from the start and I new I had a big girl on the whole time. Ran me under the boat 3 times and around the engine twice. A very nice way to start the season off.

Thanks for posting your fishing/catching log.

Got out today, hit Makwa just over the border. Very slow for eyes, couple small fish. Lots of Pike loads of Pike lol. Little hot out and we were unable to be there for the evening bite so I wasn't overly surprised. This week hopefully get out on cold for some lakers.
