WELL WELL WELLHow often does one get at a second day at the hook up of Sturgeon ?
GEEZLE DOES .
After yesterday he went out and bought some Flurocarbon leader material . Sure enough IT WORKS !!!!! .

Ill post the Video here shortly , Gotta make a few changes due to the amount of Profanity in it . Agian Excitement tonight at the North Saskatchewan River .

Before anyone says anything about it being out of water for so long I was using the Speed shutter , so Ive got 26 pictures all looking very close .

The Video as promised .

She was 56 inches 19 inch Girth , according to my Sturgeon weight length girth chart its between 49 lbs and 55 lbs .

According to BBJ's chart it was in the 50ish pound neighborhood.

And yeah...I'm still pumped about that one!!

Awesome solid fish boys,, well done..

FYI those charts are way out of wack I believe they are set up for white sturgeon I know we have weighed a few of them and then compared it to the charts and they are way off.. Just looking at it I would put this one in at around 30 pound fish.. But regardless its a hell of a fish..

This Chart is from Fish and wildlife for Lake sturgeon , 55 inches is estimated 49 lbs and 57 inches is estimated for 55 lbs . So shes somewhere inbetween . I never lifted her but shes friggen solid . I still say pretty good way to redeam yourself after being snapped off the day before .

X2 there Walleyes. Years ago Dad and I went sturgeon fishin near mouth of the Fraser and he was catching those
regular size fish around the thirty pound mark. At that time in the late eighties Dad would try his best to get one over the hundred pound mark.

And I didnt reply to be a dink either well aware of what were doing and the system , I was given the Chart from Darryl Waters Edm Fishandwildlife bioligst , who has been studying the Sturgeon . And this reply isnt to be a snooty little bitch either . Still A dandy fish .

Quick Update

Jay just hooked into another sturgeon even larger then yesterdays , Ill let him reply no pictures or video because Im here and hes there , but came here to clear the memory cards and post this so will be back with hopefully more Sturgeon pictures tonight , hopefully we catch ole beasy 6 footer I got a couple of years ago .

It was a Lake Sturgeon like josh said they are the only Sturgeon we have in our waters.
