I sure do Robin, mostly for Wallys & Grayling. Got a couple buddies with jets that make it a whole lotta fun!
On our way home now. Unfortunatley all 3 kids got sick. Argh!
Started off with a blown wheel bearing an hour from the lake. Could have done without that but got it handled.
Got to our "secret spot" to find no less than 30 trailers & motorhomes and 30+ boats. HUGE piss off cuz its always been fairly quiet. It was worse than a bloody trailer park. I wanted to turn around & leave but the Mrs talked me into staying. Went out the first evening to my honey hole shelf, usually stacked with Wallys. Jigged for 2 hrs without a sniff. So we went looking for them and found them in 3 feet of water. Weird but ok, Il roll with it. Did pretty well the first night, about 70 average Wallys between me & the boy. Headed back there at 330 the next morning and couldnt buy a fish. Went looking again and found them in 16. Weeeeeiiiiiirrrddd. Had a so-so morning then couldnt find them for a day and a half. We decided to fish the other lake instead so headed over there at 330 yesterday mornin. We caught 4 big pike (3 over 20 lbs ) but not a Wally or Laker anywhere. Frustrated we started heading back and decided to troll a couple big 5 of diamonds on the way. 5 minutes into trolling my 8 year old hooks up with what we thought was another big pike. It turned out to be a huge Wally, just a hair under 10 lbs.
So we bonked him on the head and kept trollin. Not 30 seconds later I hooked up with an 8 1/2 lb Wally.
Went back out last night & caught 3 more big Pike, biggest was 22 lbs. No Wallys & no Lakers.
All 3 kids and the wife were so sick this morning we pulled the pin at 4 am and headed home.
Not the greatest trip but still good times
......and then, as I was typing all that the wife (a mile behind me) rolled our little trailer into the ditch. Awesome.
Everybodys fine. Shes in deep shit.
