It has apparently gone broke as read on another forum. Does anybody have any info on it?
Has been for sale on landquest.com for a couple of months and listed as a court order?
Where did the guys boats go and when?

That's to bad,, I think they really gave it a good go. But people pay too much for those businesses and don't think the whole thing through some time.

I havnt heard anything on his boats but if it's a bank order I would emagine the credators got dibs on any assets..

Salmon lodge/guiding business must be a tough go, lots of expenses I guess.  The trip prices always scared me a bit or I would be a customer; those prices must be justified considering the overhead.
Jamie did a great job of advertising and promoting that business as far as I could see.  Too bad they couldn't continue, sad to hear indeed.

they were a little shady IMO....
we booked a trip with their competition and posted on that lesser other fishing board just to help spread the word, etc. the same day GPS was pm-ing me and trying to undersell the company we booked with and trying to get me to cancel with them....shady and immoral... :o

Their website is still up and going.  Are they open for business?

Not in operation from what owner stated. Some people have money at risk and that is saying it nicely. Lots of conflicting information and was wondering if anyone knew more here. I almost bought a trip and am sure happy I did not. Another person PM'd me and advised against it.

Didn't he say all but three party's money was looked after?

Who's money are you concerned for?

Will be interesting to know what happened there.  Seemed like they were giving it a real go.  Im wondering if they maybe didn't over extend themselves a wee bit with the lodge renos and couple new boats and all the high end gear they were buying.  That combined with an expensive price to go there and the fact they had to boat a long ways sometimes for fish may have been their downfall.  When we go out and stay up along the Alaskan border we would see GPSL boats up there which would be an hour or more run for them to get up there.  They had a nice location, albeit not very convenient for people to get to seeing as there was no vehicle access.  Jamie and his dad always seemed like great guys though when I did meet them a couple times and almost bought a house in Calgary using Jamie as my realtor.

It is too bad when any business goes under.. It takes a lot out of a person to go through such a thing. My wife and I went through a loss of our business a few years back and it was very tough on us,, something I don't wish on anybody.. Stress is a killer.

I hope they didn't have to much of their personal things tied up as collateral in a venture like this. Buisnesses like this are too seasonal,, lots of people don't realize this I think when they get into it. If you finance a half mill and only operate 5 months out of the year you can't make it,, you can barely make your interest payments at that never mind run and operation.

I don't mean any disrespect in any way towards Jamie,, I think personely he is a great guy,, but just through a couple discussions we had on line about the fishery out there he didn't have a very good understanding of it. Certainly not for someone that was trying to run an operation like that. I think they went out there a few times,, loved the place and the idea of owning a fishing lodge but didn't think the whole thing through,, or understand it enough to know the whole picture..

Just my thoughts,, but what ever,, I truly hope the best to them as I do anyone that tries something on their own,, it's a rough grind owning your own business,, can be very tough..

I think Walleyes got it pretty right . A hunting -dog buddy of mine from that area
Said it was a mystery to him why anybody would want a lodge there ....
And there was only one .....no fish compared to a  lot of other places .
