Gull Lake First Time Out
« on: January 21, 2017, 08:24:47 PM »
This was our first time fishing Gull Lake and this is how we got it done on a bright sunny high pressure cold front when few other people were catching fish.  You can tell from the constant buzz of Augers in the background that people were moving around a lot rather than catching fish.   We had a slow day but managed several nice fish out in deeper water.  All on the small slender spoon.  We caught several perch, a nice whitefish, a walleye and a few pike.  It really is amazing how many people fish this lake on a week day!  Simply amazing.  Check it out and I hope you enjoy the show.  Lots of room out there and I feel like despite the pressure there are still a lot of fish to be caught.

Thanks for the video Brandon.  Love taking the family out there as it is a fairly productive lake despite the pressure (as you mentioned).
If you were fishing Sandy point that might be worth another trip come late February as it can get pretty bonkers with the ling coming up on the flat to spawn.
Getting to be some hawg walleye in there.  Don't know where they came from.  Have got the odd hookup here and there over the years but this year they seem to be everywhere all of a sudden.

Thanks... yeah I wont be back till end of March and then not sure if I'll be hitting Gull Lake.  Thanks for the tips though!  Its nice to have that lake so people can easily get out and go fishing!
