Identify this fish

 I catch these in the NSR around Rocky

I think its a squawfish.

In BC they changed the regs to say Pike Minnows I am pretty sure they used to say Squawfish 

I have never caught mountain white fish before then.  They seem to have an incredibly hard mouth.

It's a mountain white fish. I use to fish for them a lot out of the smokey river when I was a kid.

Looks like a Rocky Mountain Whitefish to me!

you will see those guys hit the edmonton region within the month and ive already found some good open water on the nsr :) they are a fun little fish and outstanding on the fly!

Oops,, I see I responed to Doug when I should of responed to weste,, sorry boys. Must be the fact you both have cougar pics,, the brain must of switched to auto pilot,, seems to be doing that more as time goes on lol..

the funny nose is a dead give away.
fun fish!
they have a way of saving the day when all else won't bite!!
get em well over 20" in the RDR.
Never met a fish I didn't like!!

Certainly looks to me like a rocky mountain whitefish.
