Jaw Jacker Brown Trout

Ice Fishing Canmore Alberta at the beautiful Quarry lake just outside of town in search of Grayling.  Had a great surprise though as my Jaw Jacker went off and the fish started peeling drag.  I thought I was tangled up with a monster grayling, but when that fish flashed under the hole something wasn't quite right with the color pattern.  This was a Brown Trout!  My first brown trout through the ice.  Outfished by the Jaw Jacker again.  Caught on a small olive scud.  Caught and released to enjoy another day.  What a great morning in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains!

I think I speak collectively here Brandon when I have to ask do you ever work lol there's probably better money in doctoring than there is in ice fishing

Yup I'm working 14 days straight currently.

Sure you can make more money doctoring than ice fishing but what's the point?  Take it from me, there’s more to life than making money and having a bank account.  People work too much and don't get to spend time doing things they love.   Spend all your life working to pay taxes, killing yourself.  Then you retire and spend all your money trying to maintain your health.  What kind of messed up system is that?  I have a good job and happiness for me is derived from more time off rather than more money.

OK. ... I think that calls for some fishing next week, haha.
