Lake Iosegun by Fox creek..
« on: July 08, 2016, 10:15:31 PM »
We've been camping/fishing this lake for 35 years now and I still love this place but it's going down hill.
The walleye seem to be getting smaller (starved) and not as plentiful..

And now they have seasonal campsites.....Here a reply to an e-mail...

Good Morning,

I am replying to your comment you made on your payment envelop about the long term campers.  We have some SEASONAL sites that we have been offering.  Tried it out last year and they went over quite well so we figured we would offer them again this year and included non-residents.  For a non-resident a seasonal lot is $1500.00 from May 19-September 10th weekend.

Hope that helps answer your question. If you have any more questions please feel free to contact our office and we will gladly help you.

Have a great day,

Bonnie Williams

Yeah I have a question...This lake used to be a busy busy place. Now not so much anymore.

So how about you let people keep a walleye for lunch when they camp here? Without the stupid tag deal?
Seasonal sites for $1500..really?
We always camped at site 51 which is close to the dock but now some joker even has a wooden patio in front of his camper..wtf?

I think it's time for sonny to explore new lakes/campgrounds.. :(

Is that a 0 walleye lake Sonny? If it is no surprise the walleye are starving. This is a common theme with the SRD management practice of walleye at the expense of all other species. They have ruined the biodiversity of alot of Alberta lakes.

Yup it's 0 walleye lake and the fishing here was better 35 years ago when the limit was 5 per day with no size limit.

It's happening to numerous lakes in our province Sonny, and it's only going to get worse.

But nice catch by the way I hope you enjoyed it.

Mrs. sonny caught the biggest of our three day trip.

A 45 cm hawg which we had to throw back because we had the C class tags  ::)  lol and we both caught a lot like I'm holding up.

I don't know what to say but the more they mess with the lakes the worse fishing gets.

I wrote the SRD minister few years back about backwards walleye management. I got a reply stating that there wasn't a problem.

That's because for them there isn't a problem, a mentally handicapped child could look after the walleye management in this province the way it's set up. ( no disrespect to the mentally handicapped intended )
