We did a day trip up to Lac La Biche yesterday. The weather was a bit windy and in the afternoon a few squalls made it a bit blustery.
We fished on the north side of the lake in a well known spot that has been producing some large fish. The winter road access at Mission Bay is getting pretty sketchy with the dirty run off from the bank eroding the shore ice. Some pretty big ruts and flood water make it quite intimidating The north end of the winter road is still great at Spruce Point. The main ice is still 36" to 40" but is starting to get a bit rotten. Ice will be fine till season end no problem.
Fishing was slow but we got a few larger fish. I iced a 13 pound pike and a decent walleye. Saw a guy catch a nice 6 pound fatty walleye.
A few perch too but they were biting light.
