I highly doubt there is going to be any open water fishing going on May long this year around here. Maybe some of the small lakes and that's a big maybe,, but never Cold Lake. Honestly I wouldn't be scared to drive out their yet,, the ice hasn't even left the shoreline yet.
Here I went and bought myself a new 9 weight fly rod set up and had big plans for early season ice out fly action for lakers and pike for the weekend but may have to put it off for a while. Like I said maybe one of the smaller lakes like Ethel or Marie,, but I doubt it.
