Nobody ice fishing yet? Hard to believe
« on: November 25, 2015, 06:29:17 PM »
Really surprised there's no ice reports here
Planning to go somewhere this weekend and looking for ice thickness or fishing conditions
Interested in brookies or whitefish
Any hints or tips??
I know people have been fishing the area for weeks now
Feel free to pm me or reply
Thanks a ton in advance for any thoughts
Cheers, gw

Has been pretty warm in the north east but I would think the past week or so has made most of our smaller lakes better. I don't know of anybody that has been out yet in our area I am sure there have been some but most are still hunting.

So anyone out here in the south over the weekend?  Now that the hunting season is officially over for me its time to start drilling holes.  Any reports?

Something I plan on getting into this year but will have to go buy some gear first.

I just got back from work and wont be out until the 19th but I know a few guys have been out on Rolling Hills and parts of Newell.  A few good pike so far but no big eyes yet.  Hopefully I can get into a few when I get out.  Then hopefully get back to the NE for some jumbo perch and lakers first part of January.

Went by the big lake today,, not a stitch of ice on Cold Lake yet. The marina isn't even completely froze over. If it doesn't get a lot colder the lake may not completely freeze.

Personnely I would love it,, it would keep the heavy ice fishing pressure the lake sees and we may have some decent fish caught next summer on the open water.

I am waiting for my lungs to heal after two stays at hospital and steroids to wake up the dead  :P. I am looking forward to my first trip.
Around Edmonton the ice about 6 to 10 inches average. This will include my fish finder to the pile of gear I take...
Good Luck on the 2015 to 2016 hard water season.. :D

La Biche Lake.

Walleye are biting, slow but steady. Taking minnows on tip ups. 15' seems to be the ticket.

8" ice, quaded on no problems.
