Was at cold last Friday. After the big wind on Thursday the fish were stacked up deep at 150. Caught 3 down there and got 2 at 50 feet. Nothing big, fish were really finicky and fishing was slow for the 5 hours we were out.

No thirty pounder but a few decent ones. One what I was told is a native trout. They have brilliant colors compared to the others this will be the second one I have caught in 4 years.
Like mikeo2 has said they are not hot and heavy yet and pretty spread out. I was marking lots on the sounder deep but most hits were on Anchovie at 33'. 2 on the spoon /fly rod from 90'.
Still great to be out on the water.
Awesome colors on this one.
Also got out for some walleye yesterday. They were biting pretty good, we got a bit of a late start and caught the last couple hours of the bits but still managed a couple dozen to the boat with a couple keepers.

We have caught a few of the native fish. Usually 4 or 5 a year and all during ice season. We have noticed they tend to be skinnier than the hatchery fish?

Got out with momma today,, the lake was on fire,, what a blast. 9 out of 10 casts produced a walleye,, been a while since I hit them like this. Got our 2 for supper and one dandy 6.5# hen (on the scale) that was released to spawn another day. Man they were good eating fish,, unreal. I don't know how long its been since I have had walleye that clean tasting,, a real treat.
Fresh walleye, fried potatoes and a fresh tossed salad oh yah...

Back at work as of Tuesday for another hitch. I had a few awesome days off was able to get out on the water a few times and get the open water itch soothed lol.. I was quite surprised to find the walleye hitting as good as they were for this time of year.. although the ice was off early this year the water temp s still at normal levels for this time of year do to lack of rain I would suspect but the fish are sure active. Lake Trout are still sporadic but I assume the will be congregating soon enough. Got into a few of them but not in the numbers I like to see. Never got out to a couple of my farther holes this hitch just the closer spots that are hit hard by ice fishermen all winter so they do tend to get thinned out a bit. Next hitch out I will get to the back feeder holes and see whats up.
One nice treat was a couple days before I headed back to work we had the Grandkids for a couple night stay over and we got them out on the boat for a couple hrs, they enjoyed it. Started the 3 year old granddaughter on the technique of properly baiting an anchovie holder and she was picking up on it quick another year or so I will have her baiting and setting hooks for poppa and I will sit back and let her work the rods. Had her going on running a straight line with the boat while I baited hooks this go round. She is smart as a tack and will get on it fast. Her dad had her going yesterday on running the boat while trolling as well so she is coming along nicely. Who knows,, maybe set her up with a nice charter boat out on the west coast some day..
Couple last pics of my last trip out,, till next days off this will have to hold me. Thx guys..
Grandkids and I with a nice trout we brought up from 40' on Anchovie.
Lilly in training again with her dad..
