Our New Ice Fishing Trailer For Rent
« on: December 13, 2015, 12:10:46 PM »
We have come up with a model we call the "Fish and Play" it's basically a multi use toy hauler and combo ice fishing shack on wheels. I looked at most the wheelhouse concepts out there and they are poorly insulated and cheaply built, I also don't like those flip down axles as I have heard horror stories about them coming apart, so we went with a solid axle setup, drop spindle, spring under, this gives 14" to ice clearance which works well with the catch covers. Some of the features of this model.

R18 insulated walls roof and floor is R20 spray foamed
30000 BTU propane furnace
130 watt solar charge system
30 amp hardwired charger for generator plugin
Bluetooth marine sound system
LED lighting inside full length
LED lighting outside door and lit handle
2500 lb ramp door with LED flood lights
NUDO flooring
10000 lb rated
Dry weight is 4868 lbs. Full 8 feet inside fits side by side or quad, was built to fit a tracked ranger. Pulled it with my F150 ecoboost no problem we stayed in it for 3 days deer hunting on cots, worked great.

etc etc

I know its tough for guys to justify a purchase like this, so we are going to rent it out, propane bottles not supplied it's set up for 2 30 lb bottles. Will be set up to fish 4 or 5 we are putting the catch cover holes this week. Good for a group fish, price is $250/day plus $1000 damage deposit. You must have appropriate insurance.

To book it call us toll Free Blackrain Industries 855-887-4511 speak to Kaitlin or Paul. Booking opens Jan 1st.

Some pics.

Back in the day we had these little pocket warmer thingys that were fueled by a little charcoal stick..They worked somewhat but not great.

Now I wish I would have kept mine instead of throwing it away..it's an antique now..

You guys these days are spoiled rotten.. lol

Ditch the gas auger and get a spud and ice fish like REAL men....Bwahahahahaha.. ;D

btw...I am open to invitations to do a trial fishing day in these here new fangled fishin' shacks..but I may not like ...just sayin'  ;)

Sonny many a day as a kid going out to Missawawi lake with my Gedo hand auger and 5 Gallon pail sitting in the cold wind. I don't have to do that anymore so I choose not too  ;)

I remember the wind..the numb fingers..the red checks when we came indoors..and most of all..

Those yummy perch fillets with a sprinkle of salt and a dash of vinegar... ;D

Good God...now I have the need to go ice fishing.. ;)

And people used to ride a horse and buggy to town now we ride in ultra comfortable vehicles and get there in a fraction of the time don't see anyone complaining about that lol.. It's all relevant really times they do change.

There are still many times out of a year that one goes into the back lakes and can't take a luxury unit like this and we still do it the old school way,, well except screw the hand auger !! So when the chance comes along to enjoy a day in a unit like this I sure as heck would take it.. If my shifts would get into a 2 & 2 I would seriously look at something like this.. More than likely build something on my own but still,, they are sweet.
