Port Hardy Coho Fishing Video
« on: September 15, 2016, 08:26:17 AM »

Salmon Fishing out of Port Hardy near Jeannette Islands for some very Fat Coho Salmon.  The action was great on 4 inch green/white spoons and white Hoochies. We were using various Gibbs Delta Flashers, Scotty Downriggers and fishing from 20-40 feet on the rigger.  Lots of action, here are some of the better takes.  Hope you enjoy it.

Coho can be a blast, a real pain sometimes but also a blast, and darn fine on the plate as well, the best.

When they are think like that we will break out some lighter gear, medium action 8'6 rods or my 9w fly rod, tip them with either spoons or buck tail flies and troll them just off the prop wash or run dummy flashers with the lures 6' behind the flasher and have some fun filling the cooler with table fare for the winter. You snag a 10# hoe on a 9w fly rod with nothing but a lure on the line,, you got some fun there boy lol.

For sure Walleyes.  We stopped and casted Buzz Bombs for a couple minutes and I hooked about a 12 pounder second cast.  That was awesome!  But then had to leave.  Brother had a date with his wife.  Wedding anniversary or something.  Haha.

Another day we went back and we all were putting out our lines.  Flashers and spoons just on the surface and in about 2 minutes we had caught and lost about ten coho it was crazy.  Didn't get that on camera though.
