I love tying new patterns --often will check out several patterns and amalgamate them for a tie! This is how this stonefly nymph came about. It is tied with .5mm foam that is coloured with permanent markers. The legs are biots that have had thin wire glued to the curved side and then head cemented on both sides, so they are positionable. The head & tail fibres are 2 to 3 micro fibets glued together with head cement. It was a pain staking and slow fly to tie, but the result was awesome! The pictured fly is my third attempt at this particular 'pattern'!
