Thought it would have been out of the USA...Anyway tell me what Rod is your choice for this reel ( targeting walleye an trout ) I know you mentioned the ugly stick you tried it on....... if buying one would that be your choice......?Just wondering what your experience has been rod wise......tom
Thanx Doc.......Keep up the informative work.... I for one truly enjoy your videos, comments, etc........ your gardening site is very informative...... Glad you mentioned it....Thnxtom
I use ugly sticks because I'm hard on rods. They are better price, decent quality, get the job done and stand up to my kids and me. The one I was using it on is the Ugly Stick Lite Graphite, 7' Medium Action. This is good for like and walleye, hucking larger lures. Has some back bone must still decent feel to it. For trout I like a lighter rod since I usually use only 4 to 6 pound test for the trout with a long whippy rod so I can cast those small light lures further. A cheap rod is the Bass Pro Ultralight rod that you can see me use in some trout videos. It's yellow. I think they change the colors every year, so don't know what colour it would be now.
I like your style, run a fleet of ugly sticks as well. Pretty good rod for the price I feel and crazy durable. My first one is pushing 15 years old now and my youngest still uses it (although there is a bit of electrical tape holding the handle together). Coupled with some power pro or other braid I find them to be more than sensitive enough for what we do. I find using braid the kids don't get as many tangles as well compared to running mono. A lot of the tangles the kids would get were caused by line memory using mono or flourocarbon.
