Rod Down Hole... but got her back
« on: February 22, 2018, 02:06:36 PM »
Here is a pretty funny video catching a beauty trout on the new Dynamic Lures jig and unfortunately dropping my rod down the hole.  Don't let this happen to you.  But if it does here is how I got it back as well.

The lure was made by Dynamic Lures Trout Attack Micro Soft Swimbait.  Working well through the ice for me.

A fellow angler from Alberta bumped into me out on the ice that day.  Always nice to meet you guys out there.  Don't be shy if you see a tripod on ice probably me out there.

Had the same thing happen to me a few years ago Brandon.

We were out on one of our favourite Walleye lakes, I walked away from my rod for a bit and had it stuck in the snow beside the hole. As I was away down the whole it went. Well what ever rigged another and kept on. Fished that hole for a while and a few other over the next couple hours. Was on that hole again later on and I tagged bottom as I did numerous times before, I hooked onto something, couple yanks yup a fish. As I bring it up nope,, it's my rod I snagged the handle of the reel but wait I have a fish too nope the lousy little pike was still on the hook of the first rod that's where the fight was coming from. Fish must of pretty much sat still after the rod went in cause that reel was still right under the hole.
